- Explain (using power point) about what it is (wind energy)
- Tell them a story about (a made up story) how it was made - the 'reason' why it was made in the first place.
- Ask them whether they want to make a windmill onigiri
- If they don't want then : - I would ask them what they understand so far, then I would explain more to it, I would ask them to draw it (windmill), I would have a little quiz then I would end it with a little presentation thanking them for listening.
- If they want to then : - I would ask them to collect their materials, then show how to do it, and I would ask them to make it (with the help of their teachers and other members of my group, I would like my group to learn it first, in case), after finishing it I would have a little talk to them asking them if they like what they did or not then I would give them a little quiz then I end it with presenting the little thank you video.
This is all I could think of since I have never actually spend any of my time with any year 4-6 kids before. I'm not sure if they would like it or not but I would like to try this plan out.
Other than that, this is the instruction about how to do the windmill onigiri : http://www.things-to-make-and-do.co.uk/paper-and-card-projects/windmill/windmill.html
It's really easy to make :)
